When the realization did hit, it was all consuming. It was like a lightbulb went off in his brain, and filled his nerves with electricity. A current that quickly died into static, with the awful remembrance that Will wasn’t even a part of his life anymore.
He thought he’d be afraid—afraid of what that would mean for him. Afraid of how the rest of his life would be.
He thought he’d be disgusted— it was unnatural. It wasn’t normal for guys to want other guys. Not emotionally, not romantically, and certainly not sexually.
But Mike was neither of those things.
Instead, there was only one feeling that consumed his being. One feeling that has festered under his skin and buried itself into his soul. One feeling that drove him to do this absolutely fucking psychotic task.
Desperation.
Need.
Want.
Mike rationalized that he had already been living without his soul for too long. Selling it for a chance to feel something again seemed like an appropriate trade-off.
