Returning home after doing the dumbest and most regretful decision in a job career is for former Dragon trapper (now current Dragon rider without a dragon) Eret rather touchy subject and he delays doing so for years until he and Hiccup find out that in the far north sea roams a colossal serpent that is a great threat for the Saami, who rely on fishing.
With support of his girlfriend he grits his teeth and joins them as the navigator towards the journey where on its end awaits two of Eret's worst nightmares.

Elise has lived and worked with Singed her entire life. As his assistant, she helped him make Shimmer and has taken over its handling as he grows more and more desperate to revive his daughter. He's her father, all things considered. If only someone told him that.
Now that she's older, Elise parties and throws herself into her work to fill the void Singed's lack of approval or affection leaves. Nights filled with Shimmer and alcohol come and go, escapism at its finest.
Then Silco decides he wants Shimmer's formula improved as soon as possible. He even goes as far as to assign his right hand, Sevika, to oversee Elise's work and ensure it gets done. At first, they are at odds, both women despising the arrangement. Until they start working together and discover it actually isn't so bad to be at one another's side. It works. It works well.
But what happens when they fall into bed together on an impulsive, drunken night? What happens when Elise finds Sevika's arms and lips fill the void better than a hit of Shimmer ever did? And what happens if it becomes more than that?
