Summary
Benedict Bridgerton is used to cavorting with many different kinds of people, people who his family (and especially his mother) do not approve of. That remains true as he meets a governess that used to be a lady, Miss Eloise Baincroft. Despite his family's overt disapproval he begins a relationship with her, not knowing that some secrets should remain untouched, and that sometimes a relationship fraught with them is worth fighting for regardless.
