Summary
Hemmer has died to save his crewmates, but he certainly doesn't deserve to stay dead. Like so many other people from various worlds, he finds himself waking again, once more alive, in a world unlike anything he's ever imagined. Telepathy is all over the place, other Aenar are supposedly present but somewhat elusive, and it's not long before he's starting to think about a new Purpose to replace the one he has already fulfilled.

Summary
Hodge dies at Valentine's hand and reawakens in a place he couldn't have dreamed up if he'd tried, full of magic and things that had no place in his home. Bring free of his sentence and free of Valentine certainly is appreciated, but shutting out the ghosts of his past is going to be a work in progress for a while.
