ART?
SecUnit. Stand and return casualties to the shuttle.
It sends me a map of directions, marking the bodies around its corridors.
ART, say something. Call me an idiot, please.
SecUnit. Apply a 5% correction.
This can’t be happening. I shouldn’t have done this, we should have fought to the death instead. I’ve made a terrible mistake.
They installed a governor module on it.

Barish-Estranza captures and installs a governor module on ART. Can Murderbot find a way to save the both of them?

Summary
Murderbot acompanies ART on a mission to rescue indentured workers from a station and meteor mine belonging to Palisade. Unknown to it ART is also picking up one of PSUMNT's doubel agents. Worse than that the spy insists on dragging a rouge CombatSecUnit along with her.
Murderbot is stuck in close quarters with a Construct who has vastly different opinions about humans and personhood than it.
ART is trying to help its new crew members achive their gole and have a happy life all the while helping Murderbot with it's journey too. Results vary
The CombatSecUnit just wants to feel like itself again. It is not sure it remembers what that meanth back then (Does it even remember when and what back then was?)
The spy knows her neural augments can buy her only so much time. She is dedicated to see her plan to destroy the Company to its end and desperate to see her only friend forever free and safe of the Corporation Rim's hold.
At least between the four of them there is plenty of new media to watch in the downtime
The Company is not planing on going down without a fight. Neither is Preservation.

Summary
Murderbot is captured by the company. How lucky of them to get such a well-performing unit back to use in a new, experimental program. After all, after a few security updates and upgrades, it's just as good as new. Better, even!
(mainly going to be dealing with the fallout of this I think, my favorite part!)AKA: I decided to write the most self-indulgent thing I could possibly think of (while still having the courage to maybe post it eventually).
Mind the tags! I like when my hurt and comforts hurts very badly before it comforts :3c The characters/tags will probably change as I get a better idea of where I'm going with this lol. -

Summary
Dr. Mariss Bernez has always wanted to be a survey geologist, so when the spring semester ends, she’s off to her first survey project.
Twenty-two has decided its primary directive is to follow Mariss across the galaxy, killing anyone who looks at her funny. Which means dusting off the armor, dropping the stupid-human code, and going back to being a SecUnit among corporates. Only this time it has a client who has no interest in treating it like a SecUnit.
What could go wrong?
Definitely not landslides, potential alien remnants, and ill-advised romances.
[All OCs, operates as a standalone but is set between chapters of Object Attachment.]

The data was fascinating. I immediately realise it was the wrong thing to say. All of you is fascinating. Now I've overcorrected and been too honest. I cannot determine how to rectify this situation. All I know is that my SecUnit hasn't been this far from me in the feed since we first met and I hate myself for causing this reaction.
ART admits to Murderbot that it submitted a research proposal about Murderbot's governor module when they met.

SecUnit 57 has been sent for its very first job to a boring, unremarkable agricultural planet where absolutely nothing happens. Hopefully, it won't be as mind-numbing as it appeared to be.

My :insert stupid thing here: buffer phrase was perfect for this situation.
I announced to the group, “This ball activity is in violation of your safety bond. Please stop doing ball activity immediately.”
The humans did not stop immediately.
Five times SecUnit needed to deal with both stupid humans and its governor module. And one time it didn't.

You’re doing fine, SecUnit. What’s the issue?
I don’t take care of things. Just kill them. This is not how I was built to function.
I’m sure you know that’s a lie.
Murderbot reluctantly pet sits for Gurathin, recovering pre-memory wipe memories in the process.

Summary
Humans were screaming, I was sprinting toward the problem, and the sky was unleashing a chill, torrential rain that made me nostalgic for getting hosed off in the security ready room.
It should have been the perfect day.
Well, not for the screaming people trapped in the collapsed building. Their day probably sucked. For me, it was exactly what I needed.
More than anything, I really needed there to be a problem, because if there wasn’t then I was the problem.
And there's only one kind of problem a rogue SecUnit can be. -

While on an undercover mission deep in the Corporation Rim, Tarik
buysstealsrescuesacquires a ComfortUnit. This is fine—it can hang out while he finishes the mission, he’ll be not-an-asshole to it, and then it can go on its liberated way and never have to see him again. This will definitely not get weird and messy. -

Summary
As part of the bond agreement, PreservationAux is supposed be issued a standard rental SecUnit, all parts and systems functioning, and that's exactly what they get. The planet may have undocumented and deadly fauna, glitches and equipment failure may be mounting, but at least they don't have to deal with a rogue SecUnit on top of everything.
