Summary
Darcy Lewis was the only person in the world with a broken soulmark, until Jane Foster's experiments with the Einstein-Rosen Bridge go awry and she landed in the middle of a forest, surrounded by Scandinavian-looking Peter Pan wannabes.
Legolas Thranduilion was Blank for over two millennia, and when his soulmark finally did appear, it was...not right. It was not in any dialect of Sindarin or Quenya or Common or even Khuzdul. And then Darcy Lewis quite literally landed on his doorstep.
Shenanigans ensue as they get to know one another, and each other's respective cultures and friends and families. They're both strangers in a strange land--depending upon whose world they're in, and thanks to Heimdall, they travel between the two a bit.

Sometimes you just need to look the reality of cross-dimensional soulmates in the eye and make it uncomfortable.
Of course, we all know the outlines of GDIME: (occasionally teenaged) girl drops into Middle Earth, falls in love with Legolas, optionally saves the world, happily stays forever. But that begs several important questions, and it is my pleasure to dropkick some poor fictional schmucks into dealing with them.
This is the version where Legolas' soulmate is a 23-year-old university graduate. Featuring: very uncomfortable discussions of legal protections, property law, discussions of education and expectations, and what constitutes a gold digger.
