Story line: at the beginning Charles was an organist in Genova, he got a well-paid offer from Britain. Because of it looks like Savoy was going to a civil war after the death of Victor Amadeus I, Charles' friends and family thought he should go to somewhere more pEAcefUL. So Charles as a Catholic, arrived at Britain a Kingdom of Protestants. He found himself became a heretic under the new environment. Was at that time, he met a weird young man from Netherlands. They didn't get along well at first, but as times goes by, things were changing...
The patron who recruited Charles to Britain is Lord Hamilton btw.

The English Civil War was the worst conflict that ever erupted in the British Isles. Three Kingdoms were locked in brutal combat for reasons of religion, politics, and economics. They ended with a King deposed and executed as a traitor and a man who had fought for Parliament against the King in the name of political and religious freedom become the most absolute tyrant Britain ever suffered under. Deposing the parliament he had fought for and crushing all religious dissent against his Puritan ideal.
But history is not set in stone, not for the Company that can make so many 'interesting' bargains with those dumb enough to take those deals.
