“This is seriously fucking hard, so just, shut up.” Bakugou clenches his eyes shut. “Fuck, I don’t mean - I know you just want to help, but just let me do this at my own pace. Stay over there,” Bakugou’s eyes flutter and flicker towards his boyfriend. “Please.” He rasps.
Kirishima’s heart rate speeds up and everything in his body is telling him to take the man he loves into his arms and hold him tightly. But he understands Bakugou, or, he thinks he does. And he doesn’t want to hurt his boyfriend anymore than he already is. So, he stays quiet and completely still.
When Bakugou figures that Kirishima will listen, he drops his hand, facing front again and finding that same spot on the rug.
Kirishima counts the seconds as the deafening silence suffocates them. 423, 424, 425…
“Before I came to UA, I was attacked.” Bakugou finally murmurs. His knuckles are white as he clenches his fists resting on top of his knees, remembering the night so clearly.

It starts with what looks like a failed assassination attempt on David Sarif, when a malfunction causes the VTOL to crash. Malik gets out alive, but both she and the chopper are out of commission when a truck full of augmentations gets stolen. Things go tits-up pretty fast after that, and when Jensen is captured, there is only one person left who could possibly, theoretically help, and that is a skinny nerd with an Attitude.
Frank knows he’s clever and resourceful, but he also knows he’s not in any way a Jensen 2.0. Still, things being as they are, he’s Jensen’s only chance, and for once it’s Frank Pritchard having to play knight in shining armour to save someone’s ass.
