“Lucy, we shouldn’t do this right now.” Tim said, shaking his head.
“When should we, Tim?” Lucy blurted, a little louder than she intended, the emotional intensity of the moment getting the better of her. “We finally get to something real, and you want to shut me out?”, she spoke, her voice pained.
“No.” he said immediately. “That’s not what I am doing. It’s just this—tonight was supposed to be about celebrating you. About me making it up to you—”
“Can’t you see, you already are. By letting me in, by letting me take care of you too.” One of her hands moved to his face, and he closed his eyes, melting into her touch. (..) “It wasn’t what tore us apart, Tim. It was you not letting me in, not trusting me to love the darkest parts of you that you’re so sure are unlovable. But they’re not. They’re not.” She repeated, her voice breaking, begging him to believe her.
OR Tim and Lucy go on their first date after the break up and figure out their future together.
