At just over four months on HRT, Adora has been undergoing a lot of changes, basically all of them wanted. But the one change she didn’t ask for, and the one that caught her most off guard, was becoming the very thing she once ridiculed: an emotional woman who would cry at the drop of a hat.
It was a painful reminder of some of her past behavior, and every time she felt herself brought to tears over something that would have barely phased her in the past, she felt like a terrible person. Now she understood what some of her classmates had dealt with and were dealing with. And every time it happened to her, she felt all the worse about it.
Apologizing seems to be the only way she could ever hope to be freed of a guilty conscience.
