The water was perfectly still tonight, a mirror of the transforming sky. Wemmbu watched the colors shift and blend, watched the first stars begin to emerge. Peaceful. Quiet.
Alone, but not in the crushing way it had been before. Just... solitary. There was a difference.
The sound of voices drifted through the trees behind him, shattering the silence.
