Summary
Sydney Kreider is lost. She has given up on the career path she set out for herself. As she does every time she has nowhere else to turn, she seeks help from her brother and finds herself in New York City to regroup. In New York, Sydney has a complicated past in the form of unresolved feelings for her ex-boyfriend. Also in New York is her ex-boyfriend's best friend whom Sydney has an even more complicated past with. Ryan Lindgren is infuriating, rude, and undoubtedly out to get her. He has a grudge and an old score to settle with her. Sydney strives to find the beginning of the next chapter of her life, but Ryan seems hellbent on getting under her skin, which threatens to hinder her progress. However, the more run-ins she has with him, the more she realizes that their conflicts were created by an integral part of their pasts that they fought to suppress.

“On the card,” Chris replies. He pauses for a second before quietly asking, “Would you kill me if I kissed you right now?”

Adam’s stuck thinking of Ryan’s smile at the end of the game, how he praised Adam, how Ryan looks as he’s undressing in the locker room.

Ryan was slumped behind him on his shoulder, drunk as fuck, breathing hot onto his ear, his mouth positioned right next to Adam's earlobe, as if he were going to nip it any second. It was a welcome distraction from the cold winter air against his legs. As bright as the full moon had made it seem, it was still bitterly cold, and he had worn shorts that covered very little other than his groin, in hopes that rubbing his thick mostly bare thighs against Ryan would finally provide the hint he needed that Adam was free game. It seemed like a good plan, a really good plan.The one where Adam has rough sex with a werewolf, who may or may not be the guy he's been pining for, for forever.
