Summary
Seventeen years old Hanno, raised in Sic Mundus, is being prepared for his path, and his journey through the time. A stranger comes one day, sadness in his eyes, the kind you sometimes see in those who want to die, but life won't let them.
The stranger tells Hanno to wake up early, and they go to the fields to meet a woman from the future.
Oh, Hanno thinks, guessing who that would be. Of course... They would use that, what else to return him to his path. But what can he do? He can't turn away, he can't not follow Noah to the middle of the field. He cements his own future, he cements his becoming into Noah, but how can he not?
