Summary
John's really afraid he doesn't want to hear what Sherlock's about to tell him.
***
When he finally turns towards me, his eyes are serious. He takes a few steps, stopping two feet away. “John,” he says, quietly. I meet his eyes and nod, straightening my back, ready for whatever’s coming. He searches my face for a moment. “I need you to know that what I’m about to tell you is true.” I furrow my brow, confused. That’s definitely not what I was expecting. He looks away briefly and takes a deep breath, then looks back at me. “I would not have told you in this way, but I will not have you believing it’s a lie. Her price is the truth, and the truth is what I’m giving you.”

Summary
John has some questions after Sherlock's confession.
***
When he’s settled back in his seat, I ask the other question, the one that’s been nagging at me. “And what about me, then?” He looks up at me, going still. “How long have you known how I felt?” Because he does, I’ve realized. Of course he does. When I continue, my voice is low. “Did you know before you let me believe you were dead for two years?”

Summary
John is not Sherlock's damsel in distress. But he might have to stay behind anyway.
***
“You are such a bastard!” I whisper fervently. “I know,” he responds, quietly. Then I pull away enough to look at him, and his hair is tousled, eyes soft, looking at me like I’m something precious.
“And I fucking love you,” I finish, softly. And he smiles for me, the real one that crinkles his eyes and makes them sparkle like the sun on the ocean. “I know,” he says, and I smile then as well. I can’t not smile at him when he looks like that.

Summary
John's marriage is officially over. He's got Sherlock alone. He has some definite ideas about what to do from there. But he forgot about one little thing...
***
My hands go to the front of his trousers, and then I stop myself, pulling away enough to speak, although my breathing is labored and I have to try twice to get the words out. “Sherlock, have you done this before?” He freezes for a second, panting, one hand at the small of my back, tucked under my waistband, and the other splayed across my back under my shirt. He licks his lips and shakes his head, and I have a moment of absolutely no idea how to feel about that.

Summary
John muses about the moment since their first time, and he and Sherlock finally get to go back to Baker Street.
***
I let him pull away then, and he paced a little. “John, I couldn’t possibly—How am I supposed to sleep?” He ran his hands through is hair, and I knew the problem. Too much going on in his head. In the past I would have sedated him, but we didn’t have enough hours of down time for that. But I had an idea, a theory.
