Summary
“I need a shower,” Athena murmured into her shoulder.
Janey didn’t care. Hell, she didn’t give a damn. She pulled Athena in even closer.
“I’m not lettin’ you go.”
“You think I’m gonna run away from you in the shower?” Athena joked—and it was the wrong time for jokes.
Janey pulled back. Wiped at her face. When had she started crying? She wasn’t even the emotional type.

Athena shifted, tugging at her scarf. Between them hung a topic neither wanted to touch.
