Summary
He was a stranger in these halls. The floors he had taken his very first steps on was now unbroken ground. While he recognised his surroundings the memories of what he had in his mind and what he was now seeing didn’t match, and it was not only the time of day causing the broken remembrance.
Ironically, it was passing a mirror that finally allowed him to make the connection as they took a left towards the doors of the reading-room. As he entered into the mirror’s view and nothing other than the silent walls around him greeted him back, faced with his lack of reflection, he found what was missing.
There were no pictures of him. Framed photographs had been replaced with new ones, and even the portrait of his childhood self had been taken down and removed. Hopefully just stuffed into some place where visiting company couldn’t be tempted to ask any prying question about the son who was never good enough.

Summary
Apo flapped her wings, hated the ease that had come with the transformation, hovering for a second in the air to scan the area, to listen for any noises. The coven was usually never this quiet while they were all together, usually squabbling or chatting about one thing or another, but she was not quite sure if she had wanted others around or not.
Logic told her that less enemies around her as she flew into their territory was better, but she would take any of them as a distraction at this moment.
She really, really hated being alone with Scott.

Summary
It was far from perfectly applicable to her own death. It was a piece of evidence that would never have held up in court, one would have had all her credentials laughed to pieces, but why would that matter when she would never be able to return home to where and who she once was. Why would that matter, when this was only her trying to figure out if the threads of her thoughts were free of someone else’s strings.
It was a proof of character.

Dawn was approaching, though the heavy clouds were shielding them from its arrival. From this distance, the area looked deceptively beautiful, Oakhurst barely visible through the darkness, even with the chaos spreading. It was like watching a beast of prey, curled up and asleep, aware of the teeth and claws on display but tucked away for the moment. A dragon sleeping on an empty hoard.
”You were slightly off.” Scott causally corrected, stepping into the shadows of the tower as dawn was starting to breach the horizon. ”The town was a punishment, but it was just as much a reward.”

”You know that not what I–” Legundo took a deep breath, and for some reason it looked unnatural, overdone. Almost theatrical. ”I just want to help.”
There was groaning in the forest behind him, way further back he could see the light of the town braving the darkness. A very slight part of him admitted that if Legundo were to get hurt going back to the town, he might even feel guilty about it.
”Fine.” He stepped back to allow the doctor to enter, and heard the heavy steps behind him as well as the door falling closed.
