Scorpius shrugged. "She's smart. She's fierce. She's good at Quidditch, and pretty much everything else she does. She's got amazing hair."
"But she doesn't even like you!" exclaimed Albus.
"Thanks, mate," Scorpius said drily.
"I didn't mean it like that," Albus relented. "It's just ... you're an ace bloke. You deserve to be with someone who really likes you. Who thinks you're brilliant."
Scorpius grinned. "I've got you for that."

Albus shrugged. "Better get used to it. We're not just weird now; we're weird and queer."
"Queird," snickered Scorpius.
That startled a laugh from Albus. "Nerd."
"Actually, I prefer to think of myself as 'bi-dorktual'," Scorpius grinned.

Summary
It was Albus's turn. Scorpius squeezed his damp hand in encouragement. He stood up, looking self-conscious and defensive.
"Er - my name is Albus Potter. I'm gay. My pronouns are he/him, I guess." He belatedly remembered to sign the words for his cousin's benefit, moving his hands awkwardly.
He sat back down, face red, as everyone chanted, "Hi, Albus!"
Scorpius was last. He stood up. This was not so bad, coming out in front of fewer than a dozen people. It had been much scarier to stand on the Slytherin table the week before and declare Albus his boyfriend in front of the whole school. Still, he could not help feeling a little nervous.
"Hi. Dictatus. My name is Scorpius Malfoy. I'm bisexual. My pronouns are he/him. And - um - I just wanted to say, thanks for inviting us."

"I'll never get used to how big your family is," Scorpius said, shaking his head, as they turned toward the steps down to the Slytherin dungeon. "You must be related to half of Wizarding Britain. And some of France, too," he added, remembering Albus's Aunt Fleur.
"And you're related to the other half." Albus chuckled. "I guess it's lucky we're not related to each other."
"Not closely, anyway," Scorpius teased. "We do have one cousin in common."
Albus rolled his eyes. "Teddy is my godbrother. We're not blood relatives."
Scorpius grinned. "Does that make us kissing cousins, then?"
Albus's hands were full of gifts from his family, but he nudged Scorpius with his shoulder. "As long as it involves you and kissing, you can call it whatever you like."

Scorpius gave his boyfriend an exasperated look. "That's how long our 'break' yesterday was meant to last. Snogging isn't going to be on any of the exams, you know."
"Pity," grinned Albus. "I'd probably get an O on that one."
Scorpius could not hide a smile. "I'd give you one for sure."
"What if we timed it?" suggested Albus. "Five minutes, and then straight back to revising?"
Scorpius sighed. "It's not that I don't want to. I do. I love kissing you. You know that. If it were up to me, I'd do it all the time. But right now, OWLs are more important. Snogging has to wait."

Harry cleared his throat. "You remember the conversation your mother and I had with you when you turned thirteen? About taking proper precautions, and treating girls with respect?"
Albus nodded, cheeks flushed. He remembered his parents' candid discussion about sex vividly. His mother had taken the lead that time, and had been appallingly frank, with his father mostly nodding along, interjecting a comment here and there.
"Well, since it's boys -" continued his father, "- or maybe boys and girls? - I thought perhaps we had better revisit the subject."

"What was that?" he frowned, glancing around the deserted corridor.
"Oh," said Scorpius, feigning nonchalance, though his ears were bright pink. "It's just Merlin."
