Summary
Relief was short-lived.
The bass continued to pulse from the cheap speakers until Rumi recognized why it was so familiar.
Oni’s voice, her voice, filled the kitchen. A song that was both completely hers and not at all.
Across the table, Zoey was already humming, Mira’s lips moving just behind the melody. For the first time since they had sat down, Mira softened, and Zoey beamed. The music pulled them together with an ease Rumi couldn’t hope to touch.
Rumi gripped her chopsticks until the wood groaned.
Of course. Even here I’m forced to be her.
She tried to smile, tried to pretend each word didn’t make her want to both fall into the opening moves of the choreo and tear at her ears.
A thought pressed in suddenly.
Hiding everything—her tattoos, her voice, her life—wasn’t going to be easy. Not with Oni only a speaker away.
OR
Solo idol Rumi disappears from the spotlight… only to end up living with her biggest fans. Also a different take on the College AU trope.

Summary
Across the room, a cup clattered to the floor. Someone cursed. The crash sent Rumi’s shoulders rising nearly to her ears. Her hands shot out, grasping Zoey’s and Mira’s.
“Yellow,” she said, in the same tone one might use to remark on the weather.
The hand of Zoey she wasn’t holding appeared in the space between them, hovering an inch above Rumi’s sternum.
At Rumi’s nod, Zoey pressed her palm flat against her sweater.
“Fix or honest?” Zoey asked, eyes never leaving hers.
“Honest,” Rumi answered.
Zoey breathed in, exaggerated and easy to follow. “Four.” They inhaled. “Seven.” They held. “Eight.” They exhaled.
Without a word, Mira laid a warm palm between Rumi’s shoulder blades. Two hands anchoring her heart. The chaos of the café receded.
The broken ceramic was swept away. The clatter faded from her ears.
In Zoey’s eyes, Rumi’s reflection began to smile. Not a grin, not a beam. A slight, shy thing.
OR
Rumi has bad anxiety. Zoey and Mira know just how to take care of her. And anyone that becomes a problem.

Summary
She would break it off. She would do what Celine wanted in shape, if not in spirit.
Before that, she’d make sure Zoey and Mira had somewhere to go that wasn’t a strip of concrete behind a laundromat.
Somewhere they could live as humans, not ghosts on a sidewalk.
They could curse her, file her away as one more strange chapter in a long, ugly story she’d only ever be a small part of.
But they’d be warm. Fed. Off the streets for good.
They’d forget her in time. She’d remember them always.

The Homeless AU no one asked for. Featuring obsessive Rumi and two homeless girls who she might need more than they ever needed her.

Summary
Rumi leans down and nuzzles the side of Zoey’s face. “Do you want me to fix this—forever?”
A beat. Zoey rises unsteadily to her feet and places most of her weight on the human pillars at either side of her.
She nods eventually—slowly and hesitantly.
“Good.” There’s nothing sweet about Rumi’s smile, or the flickering purple sparks at the crown of her head. “I was going to fix it anyway.”
Zoey only smiles shyly and presses a kiss of thanks to the edge of Rumi’s jaw, then Mira’s.
In a puff of purple, they’re gone from the fansigning.
On to a day where no more harm would come to Zoey, because the only two people she would see were them.
Her pink knight.
And the monster under the bed.
OR
Non-verbal Zoey meets her bullies, and Mira and Rumi only sees solutions that end in screams.

Summary
