"Wanna hear a story?" Jason asked with a tense lilt in his tone, hood off and tucked underneath an arm.
"A story," Bruce repeated as neutrally as possible, but he knew Jason would be able to tell that he was bewildered. All his children were as attuned to his emotions as he was to theirs.
"Yeah," Jason said, and when Bruce looked at him again, there was a dark, cheeky grin growing on his face. "I think you deserve to hear it."
"...If you think so."
