Summary
Stede watched the waves rise and fall. He watched the water crush each other, white against blue, before rippling out and settling into place. He watched the sun flickering through the clouds, shining mirrors onto the ocean and sparkling across the surface. But the sun would always go back to hide behind the clouds, never staying long enough to keep the world light.
Stede leaves work to sit alone at the pier, but after his boyfriend, Ed, finds and helps take him back to their home, lingering emotions rise to the surface, and Stede is reminded of the importance of talking it through.

Stede frowned and sat up. No matter how much he wriggled, there wasn’t any room to break his legs apart. He peaked under the covers and raised a brow. Stede was still wearing his silk pyjama top, but his pants had vanished, and his legs were wrapped together with his favourite orange blanket. It wasn’t uncomfortable, but Stede had no idea how it came to be like that in the first place. The only person who could’ve done that would be—
Right on cue, Ed pushed open the bedroom door with his shoulder, carrying a tray in his hands.
“Gooood morning,” he announced with an all-too-happy smile on his face. “I hope you slept well.”
After months of recovering from depression, Stede wakes up one morning to find his legs wrapped into a tail! As it turns out, Ed has a whole day planned for his newfound merperson, and it turns into a day full of fun, laughter, sexy times, and again, talking it through.
