Summary
The crack of lightning wakes Stiles up from where he’s been sleeping on his work laptop, yet again. The bitter taste in his mouth almost tastes like an endlessly dusty Beacon Hills summer, and the Hale’s secret recipe iced tea.
He's more than disappointed that there's no Derek Hale in his office. Stiles grips tight onto the dream and tries to pretend, for a second, that he's back there on the beach; he's nine years-old, just got his first kiss from Derek Hale, and he can start over.
Instead, reality sets in; Stiles smashed Derek's heart into pieces when he skipped town, and Derek will never want to see him again. Who could blame him?
