Summary
The world spins beneath Jack Crawford's feet as he stands in Miriam Lass's apartment the day after she's officially declared missing. There was a calendar with her upcoming FBI academy graduation date circled in red marker on the wall, a National Geographic magazine still splayed open on the living room couch, a cup of cold coffee sitting on the small table nearby on a cat-shaped coaster. The half-drawn blinds filtered crisp afternoon sunlight into the room, reflecting off of the dust particles that hung in the air and coated every surface. Wherever she had gotten to, whatever lead she followed in her hunt for the Ripper, she had not returned home afterwards.
Or, while searching for Miriam Lass and later Will Graham, Jack Crawford thinks about how he has failed them both.

Summary
Hannibal has fallen like Icarus, wax wings burning away at the will of his sun. His Will. The unmistakable sound of a gunshot rips Hannibal's attention from Will for mere fractions of a second, and then he he feels the blood spilling onto his fingertips.

Summary
Molly hadn't loved the idea of spending the night before their wedding apart, but she understood that love, that relationships were hard for Will. She understood that Will had quirks and peculiars like this, she understood that Will would spend tonight drinking and tomorrow morning trying to medicate his hangover before the ceremony tomorrow, she understood that Will wouldn't want her to see him like this when he cannot hide the worst of himself. She understands too much, he takes too much, the fire in his blood is too much. Hannibal would've pushed, pried, would've tried to strip him bare to see and know every synapse and dendrite in his brain. But Hannibal is very far away now, a thirty minute drive to the Baltimore Hospital for the Criminally Insane and two years of distance between them.
Tomorrow, Will Graham becomes a husband, and all he can think of is him.

To Hannibal Lecter, ribs were hunger. The tearing of cheek muscle as canines were pressed into branches, anything to stave the hunger.
Hannibal looks to Will in his office, decades of distance between them, looked to the dull pang of hunger in his sunken eyes with every held breath, and sees Mischa.
