Kate looked up to see Trein enter the room, Lucius in his arms.
“I have a feeling I know what it is,” Kate said, joining Trein’s side. “I’m surprised you got one, Mozus.”
“Believe it or not, he did respect me,” Trein chuckled as Kate opened the letter. Divus and Dire received one as well.”
“Not Ashton or Sam?”
“Oh, yes. Excuse me, I’ve become quite forgetful in my old age.”
Kate’s lips quirked up into a small smirk before she read the letter.
“So?” Trein asked as Kate finished. “Are you going?”
“Of course I am,” came the reply. “It’s not every day the second prince of the Sunset Savannah gets married.”

“Everyone…” Riddle whispered, shaky hand reaching out towards Cater’s phone. “Please…let me see…”
The seven of them gave each other a look, but Trey finally relented when Kate gave him a grim nod. Trey handed the phone over to Riddle, who took it and read what everyone else did. A ringing sound filled his ears as he read the news article, and it became hard for him to breathe. The noise from the party faded into the background, and even Trey’s voice sounded muffled. He looked up to see the others reaching for him and shouting his name, but he could no longer hear and they all looked blurry. Why were they blurry? His cheek felt wet and he raised a hand to it. Oh. Tears. I’m…crying. His vision faded as he collapsed to the ground, Cater’s phone falling out of his hand, cries of his names ringing in the air. Cater’s phone still shone brightly as the others surrounded him, showing off a news article titled “Disgraced Medical Doctor Annabelle Rosehearts Escape From Jail”.

Leona’s heart dropped at the last two notifications, and he turned to face Ruggie. The hyena’s ears were turned down, his tail stiff. Placing his phone back down, he carefully made his way over to the hyena and pulled him into a hug. Ruggie began to shake a little as Leona rubbed his back.
“Everything’s gonna be okay,” Leona whispered, his rare soft side showing. “They’ll be gone before you know it, trust me.”
“But what if they find out?” Ruggie whispered. “I don’t think your brother will like the fact that you’re dating a hyena from the slums.”
“They won’t.”
“But Cheka might-”
“Cheka knows better than to tell them about us.”
“But…”
“Ruggie.”
Ruggie looked up to see Leona staring at him, determination in his eyes.
“Even if they do, I’d rather be exiled than break up with you,” he said, pressing a kiss to the hyena’s forehead. “We’ll be fine.”

First, he checked the Lounge, just to see that it was only filled with a few students but no Kalim. His frown deepening, he went to look in other places he believed his boyfriend to be. Most of the students had been carted into the Lounge, competing in a game tournament Idia and Ortho had set up to try and get them to know their fellow dormmates more. Idia wasn’t a big fan of the plan at first, but of course, he could never say no to his brother and his pleading eyes. They were halfway through a fight between a Freshman, two Sophomores, and a Junior when the lights flickered a bit. Idia frowned at this before he turned towards Ortho, who was looking around as well.
“I-I’m sure it’s nothing…” Idia chuckled worriedly, causing Ortho to look back at him. “W-We might just need to change the lightbulbs in some of these…”
Ortho looked like he was about to speak when the large projector suddenly turned off. Confused, and a few angry, voices filled the Lounge, causing Idia to frown.
“That’s not good…” he muttered.
Just as he spoke these words, all lights went out, the students shouting in surprise.
“...You shouldn’t have said anything, brother…”

“Wait…” Kate frowned, going over the list in her mind. “Those qualifications kinda sound like…”
“HEADMAGE!”
The door to the office burst open and Ortho flew in in a panic.
“Ortho?” Kaitlyn asked, the humanoid coming to a stop in front of them. “What’s wrong?”
“It’s Idia!’ he exclaimed. “He’s been kidnapped by ghosts!”

She trailed off when she realized that no one was there. Confused, she looked around the area, expecting the eel to jump out to scare her like his brother loved to do, but nothing happened. It was like no one was even there in the first place, and she gave a huff of annoyment. She took out her phone to reply with an annoyed GIF, but something in her peripheral vision caught her eye. A small, sea green box decorated with a deep blue bow was sitting innocently on the steps. Slowly putting her phone away, she hesitantly grabbed the box, shaking it a little to make sure there wasn’t a glitter bomb or something in it. Hearing something that sounded like jewelry, she carefully opened it, hoping it wasn’t a bracelet made out of poisonous mushrooms. Peering into the box, she saw that it was, indeed, a bracelet, but not one made out of poisonous mushrooms. Instead, it was decorated with many blue beads, each bead a different shade. Between each bead was separated by a different sea animal charm, each one representing one of her friends from NRC. The two in front were what caught her eye; a shrimp charm and an eel charm. This finally proved her suspicions as she let out a little huff.
