Summary
Sans heals a skeleton monster after weird magic brings him over to his universe.
Red thinks he's saved by an angel. Sans doesn't know he's become a boss monster ages ago.
(Sans thinks Red's out of it. Papyrus thinks Red's okay, even if his standards are low. The crowd thinks Sans will be very much wooed by the stranger that appeared in Snowdin. It's always the skeletons that have the best fun out of all of them.)

Summary
Red is a strong mage, one advanced enough to master his mage studies early. In order to complete his mastery, he needs to contract a spirit companion to display his prowess in summoning magic.
There's only one requirement—spirit companions would only appear if their needs and wants match with the summoner's desires.
Good thing Red's needs are simple.
