As she swims, the shadows suddenly shift behind them. There’s a flicker of movement, a glint of metal, catching silver in the moonlight-
Furina yelps as large spikes of ice erupt a mere three feet from her, sending one of the agents flying and knocking another over. It spreads halfway out onto the water, a platform of ice forming underneath it, and she wastes no time scrambling onto it to regain her footing.
She almost falls right back in as it abruptly starts melting beneath her feet, but she casts her aquatic pets once more and the water turns solid beneath her, allowing her to walk back onto shore.
A familiar figure clad in gray-black wields ice with lethal precision, working in tandem with his mechanical gloves to quite literally pummel the Fatui into submission.

Wriothesley… Archons. He looks terrible. Even Furina can see the delay in his reflexes, how he’s barely holding his own against the robots - and that’s not including the blood streaked down his face, from his forehead and from a bloody nose, along with several visible bruises and some of his bandages strewn about the floor.
He doesn’t seem to relent, though, and he is doing well against the Gardemeks. Even barely holding up, Wriothesley is a more than average fighter.

Furina bursts out laughing.
Her hand raises to cover her mouth as she dissolves into giggles, doubling over at the waist. Wriothesley is so unserious about it, and the grin on Furina’s face is entirely genuine. The laughter erupting from her isn’t loud or pitching obnoxiously up and down with drama - it’s something quieter, nearly involuntary and lacking an ounce of performance.
The warmth and happiness that spreads through her is real, too, as her face heats for an entirely different reason and she has to pause for several long moments to catch her breath.

All at once, Furina realizes she can't keep waking up like this. And the realization is mirrored in Wriothesley's eyes, in the press of his hands into her wrists before they release and he pushes himself off of her.
