It wasn't even Stephen's Sanctum; his was a place of comfort and peace, while this one was anything but. Through his closed eyes, he could still picture the swirls of darkness from the incursion taking everything hostage, snatching it greedily to never return. The Sanctum didn't have soothing wood designs or expensive furniture to accompany the ancient relics, it had dark accents and melted candles. Candles that Stephen used to possess his own dead body.
It sounded like an elaborate dream, but it was real; strange, but real.
