He has a dagger out in an instant, hopping back a few paces and training his sight on an air conditioning duct above him. A grill from the duct swings open and suddenly a similarly clad stranger is falling through, landing in a graceful crouch before Katsuki.

“Why are you here?” Izuku asks.
Izuku knows exactly what Katsuki is here for. What he’s been coming to this clearing for the past year for. But Katsuki won’t be cornered so quickly. He falls back onto Temple protocol.
“As my village’s offering acolyte,” he recites by rote, “I am here to offer the goodwill of our village to the deity of our region, so that they may continue to offer their protection to those of us who need it. I am here to serve our deity in whatever fashion they deem fit.”
It’s the same spiel that Katsuki had delivered the first time Izuku had slipped out of his pool, silver bracelets set in front of him like another type of offering as he’d bowed.
“Kacchan,” Izuku admonishes, “why are you here?”
