Ryder keeps giving Cora things. At first, Cora thinks they are there to streamline the Tempest's crew's efficiency. It takes a while for her to realise that they might mean something more.
Now if only Ryder wasn't the most emotionally constipated person in the cluster. That would solve a lot of problems.

Reyes Vidal had heard about the spark before, of parents seeing their newborn child for the first time and immediately bonding with them; he hadn’t believed it before that, chalking it up to the emotions, the hormones, and the fact that the parent usually spent the last 9 months growing the child within them.
Once he laid eyes on Ryder, he knew it is all real.
Raising someone like Ryder is not going to be easy for anyone, let alone a fresh Alliance academy grad, but at least he tries. At least he cares.

Upon discovering that his SAM is not compatible with anyone other than his closest relatives, Alec Ryder knows he needs backups. He also knows he can't trust his spineless son as the new Pathfinder.
His daughter, on the other hand, is far simpler. Spew something about building a new society in a new galaxy so that biotics like her don't have to suffer, put her on the Pathfinder team, give her the SAM implant - done. Hard and solid proof that she is his daughter, not some random pilot's. Yes, they didn't speak to each other for a decade, but she is his daughter. She will forever be his daughter.
