“…Hus-band.” If anything, his request seemed to have her articulating the world more slowly. As if she thought that he didn’t understand what she was saying. “The masculine term you humans have for … describing a lifetime partner? I’m here to marry you, now. Though, sometimes we use the term ‘other half’. Perhaps you would like that instead?”
