Dream feels a pit form in his stomach. It clashes with the warmth that had been growing in his chest and makes him feel queasy.
"Oh yeah?" He's barely able to keep the strain out of his voice. The dragon's eyes shine again, like bright stars in a fog that Dream hadn't even noticed has been shrouding his vision.
"I'm Tommy."
Tommy. his head repeats, turning it round and round as if he could find all the secrets hidden within it. Tommy. Tommy. Tommy. It's strangely human. (It suits him.)
"Call me Clay."

There's a child in his apartment.
Scratch that—there's a child sitting on a counter in his apartment and eating his grilled cheese. And—his mind reminds him—the child had transformed from a raccoon that he had mistaken for his cat and given a bath.
And his roommate is talking to him like they know each other. His roommate knows a feral raccoon child.

"Dream," he says suddenly. And then, with more certainty, "It's just Dream, now."
The avian boy nods without any argument.
"Alright, Dream." The boy's mouth curls into a mirthful smile and his eyes light up, as if he's thinking of something funny. "I'm usually known as the Wings of Storm, but you can just call me Tommy, actually. Less of a mouthful, innit?"
Tommy, whispers Dream's mind almost reverently. He doesn't know why. It suits him, he thinks, even though he is an avian and far from human. (He sure is not very different from a human though, is he?)
