Peter would always be different. He would always be followed by dirty looks, sneers, and hurtful comments.
People would shy away from him and parents would tell their children "Don't go near his kind, sweetheart, they're evil beings."
He can't count the times that things had been thrown at him, how many times someone had hurt him. When he was younger other kids would trip him as he walked past and throw stones at him.
And all of it was because of his wings. Because he was a raven.

Summary
How could he let May see them again, let Tony see them, when they were the very reason that he'd lost his parents and uncle to begin with. How was he supposed to just move past that and forget that his very existence proved that he was an omen of death.
Because that's all that Ravens like him were in the end. Death omens and monsters that parents would warn their children away from.

Summary
As the movie progressed closer and closer to the gorge and wildebeest, Peter's wings would occasionally twitch or ruffle from their position where Peter had partially spread them over the top and back of the couch. Tony didn’t think anything of it until Peter curled them in slightly, the wing closest to the outside edge of the couch moving further in and now resting over the arm of the couch, the black feathers blocking Peter's body from the rest of the room.
When Simba started searching through the dust, Peter's wings curled in tighter, and that's when it clicked for Tony.
Peter was self soothing.
Or
Peter struggles with letting himself be comforted and all Tony wants to do is help his kid.
