Summary
Din Djarin lives a simple life. Day and night, he works as a bounty hunter, dragging in targets who range from murderous to skipping on debts. It's the same routine day in and day out, risking life and limb to bring home money for the displaced Mandalorians, whose exile verges on its decade anniversary.
Then a bounty comes along, with little information but a reward that's too good to be true.
Din finds himself risking it all for the child that's come into his care. Burning bridges and building new ones becomes the routine as they flee across the country, pursued by an unknown enemy who will stop at nothing to have the infant. But his peoples' history hangs heavy and a Mandalorian is a Mandalorian. Blood will spill before the battle for the child is over.

Then his eyes are starting to close.
He just needs a few more minutes.

Summary
“Surane,” Din says, dropping the magazine back into the bin. He stands, adjusting the kid, who’s quick to stare at the doctor. “Thanks for this.”
Surane gives him a look, but then looks down at the kid and takes on an overdramatic smile. “Hi there!” he says with a sweet voice, and the baby looks uncertain before beginning to smile. “Let’s get you started, huh?”
------
The baby needs a checkup, and Din turns to an old contact for discretion.

Summary
He finds himself reaching into his pocket, pulling out an envelope. Eyes half on the road, he checks again that they have their papers. Printed flight reservation, his own ID with passport and driver’s license, the kid’s new birth certificate and vaccination records.
Not that it’s a real birth certificate. But it should be enough for anyone who asks.
Signs for the airport start to appear, and Din lets out a sigh as he pulls his cap down further.
------
Din and the kid fly to meet with Cara for a needed vacation.

Summary
“Look. Karga warned us about this. The worker is here to talk. Meet you, meet Caleb, check out the house," Cara says. "It’s a step, not a jump. This isn’t the big yes or no about adopting him, just the green light to keep moving forward.”
“What if the light isn’t green?” Din whispers.
“It’ll be green. But even if it isn’t, then it’ll be a yellow, and we just fix whatever we have to until it is green. Okay?”
------
Din meets with a social worker about adopting the kid, and the process promises to be anything but simple.
