I will love this story!! I love the representation. I am a survivor of meningitis too. I was very, very, VERY lucky. Im autistic so i have a specific ritual for the morning and breakfast. So when i was five and was still in bed tired when my mom called the nanny (gods i sound like a rich kid every time i say that, sorry) she turned around and called the doctor and told her to bring me to the hospital for some test.
By the time my mom brought me there i was falling in a semi-coma. The nurses managed to plug me just in time. The only thing i got is very weak legs and lungs.
Everytime i hear others story of surviving i am grateful that my mom fallowed her guts and called the nanny asking how i was. If she didnt call or turned around when she did, probably wouldnt have my legs.
