    This is amazing! I'm so happy that I could contribute to something this great, even if it's been a measly 15 so far. THIS is why I write fanfiction!

    So how much longer will the site be in beta before it's complete?

      Thanks! We're glad to hear that you and many others really value the site and have decided to make it one of your fannish homes.

      Regarding our progress, it's difficult to say because it depends on a variety of factors, primarily having enough people with the needed skills to keep moving us in that direction. More people will move us faster, and fewer will move us slower. The AO3 is worked on only by volunteers in their spare time and we often have to prioritize current fixes over new development.

      Donations will also be important because as more people use the site, we have to focus on keeping the site stable and handling the workload. That's meant some significant expenses in the past few years with more to come.

      You may find looking at our roadmap interesting as it lays out what we've done so far as well as where we're headed. The more help we have from users though, the faster we'll be able to travel it.
