    And while I can't say I'm not intrigued about the darker version, I'm really glad you decided to go the schmoopy path - It's soft and weird and I love it, thank you so much for sharing!

      i'm glad i went schmoopy as well. as intriguing as the darker path could be, i've got other fics that go dark, and it was high time for some fluff. i also find fluff a good deal more challenging (assuming i want to maintain a certain characterization as best as i'm able), so it's good for me to flex those muscles too. overall though, i think that because i was treading the line of "hmm where will i take this" when i started, the fic ended up more interesting than it would if i'd put both feet into fluff in the first instance, so i'm glad i gave myself space to make it as weird as i did, and glad that that worked well for readers too ^^;
