Comment on Hide Of A Life War

  1. Jesus Christ, this is fantastic! I loved the intercuts of "then" and "now", the way the "then" scenes served to make the "now" even more tense, and poignant. Plot, pacing, angst, a nice slice of hot porn - I totally got lost in this. I feel like I want to go hunt down everything you've ever written, regardless of fandom, and I await, hopefully, any more Teen Wolf you choose to give us. Massive, heartfelt kudos to you!

I was concerned that the back-and-forth wouldn't work for readers, so I greatly appreciate your feedback! My goal for this fic (aside from telling the story) was to practice building tension and handling the pace in the depicted situation. The initial concept was Stiles in a hostage situation, but I quickly realized that he would actually be spending a great stretch of in-story 'time' sitting around doing nothing (and probably feeling useless). So I knew I had to build his character and his relationships in a way that makes his decision to finally take action seem natural and deliberate.

Anyway, thanks very much, I'm glad you enjoyed this! I've written in a number of fandoms, so you can have a look at my AO3 page and hopefully you'll find something else that you like. My longer fics tend to be plotty, if that's what you're looking for. (I feel weird to be rec'ing my own stuff, but I'm especially proud of my fic A Curious Carriage Of Crystal And Cold, which is X-Men First Class but totally AU and futuristic/space-based, I'm told it works even if the reader has no familiarity with the universe. Just in case it's something you might be interested in.) I'm hoping to write more for Teen Wolf, anyway, so I hope you continue to enjoy my work!

      1. You so nailed it! That's exactly what I got out of it with the back-and-forth and I loved it.
