Comment on No Pretense

  1. I was so pleasantly surprised to see this pop up in my notifications! Not only BG3 but a RARE PAIR at that! I never even thought about the notion of Wyll and Minthara bonding, let alone being together, but now I’m utterly sold. I love their back and forth throughout this — I bet Minthara is completely unused to being challenged like this, and I love that for her. She’s so used to seeing her world as black and white; of competition and proving herself either to the matrons or Orin. Now, she’s free to chart her own path and defy being beholden to anyone, but there’s a balance to being devoted and independent. It makes so much sense that traveling with Wyll (and the others “off screen”) would show her that spectrum of friendship.

    And Wyll, oh Wyll. Of course his sweet, philosophizing heart (and casual rizz haha) is capable of melting anyone’s guarded exterior. ;_;

    (P.S. This was good timing! I read this while taking a break from painting my house!)

    1. Thank you so much — seeing your comment here made me smile a lot!

      I’m really happy the pairing worked for you, especially since it is such an odd one at first glance. I also didn't used of them as a duo before - after all, it was nearly impossible to get them both in the party (unless playing Wyll as an origin character), but since now one can recruit Minthara much easier (and without killing off people in the Grove), I started to wonder how they can possibly interact with each other and whether it can blossom into a romance. And in this case, I believe they can actually work out, since Wyll is more understanding than, let's say, a paladin with a black-and-white worldview. As for Minthara, Wyll is truly a challenge and a curiosity? for her as he is so different from anyone she’s had to deal with before.

      (I'm really happy for you!! and hope this read was at least a little inspirational while you were taking that break!)
