I'm finally getting around to writing those comments I was meaning to do! I really like this chapter; I'm such a sucker for fics with Abbadon and Nate before the rest of the family come, and it feels like you've really nailed their dynamic! You can feel how strong their relationship already is, how Abbadon is grappling with the death of the first human who actually treated him as more than something to run out of the hotel. I also like the little bits of humour you've sprinkled in (“Sir, ghost sightings are not an emergency, call a priest if you’re so worried.” made me laugh a bit haha)
I like the slowly building dread throughout the chapter; we all know what's coming, but I like how you really put us in Abbadon's shoes as all the disconcerting little details line up as it builds to the terrible reveal. I really enjoy how you wrote him, just like the show, you've done a great job of balancing the immortal demon with the scared child who's lost his parental figure. Heartbreaking, and such a great introduction that pulls you in!
