Don and Kathy would move in together. They would have a dog or two and then inevitably, a small parade of adorable little brats who would call him Uncle Cosmo, and they would spend less and less time with him, not on purpose but busy with the rest of their lives, and ultimately Cosmo would learn to make his peace with it because he’d have no other choice and he would have to try to move on and not live too much in his memories. He could picture it so clearly, he figured if the songwriting gig with Monumental didn’t pan out, he could always return to the backwater circuit with a new act: The Amazing Cosmo of the Cosmos—ladies and gentlemen, he sees the future, he reads the stars, he silently pines for his best married pal and all the while tap dancing!
Don and Kathy inviting him along on their honeymoon, though—that part was a surprise.

They seem, to those who whisper, an eternal guard. An unbroken shield.
No one thinks to wonder where they came from. No one thinks to wonder whether that woman was born, whether she lived and loved the way many others do. No one asks, "What is her name?"

Summary
Jack wakes without knowing why entirely, only knowing that he needs to be awake now. The reason’s obvious once he’s alert enough to listen and hear the familiar sound of Fontaine’s shoes on Rapture’s floors. He’s coming back.
The door swings open and Jack gets to his feet. He doesn’t want to stand, but he feels the hooks lodged deep in him start pulling hard, forcing him to obey the command. The next hook catches the moment his lays his eyes on Fontaine, forcing Jack to stay still instead of rushing Fontaine and killing him with his bare hands. Jack doesn’t have to hide the contempt on his face.There’s no command against that, so he lets his features set into the usual grim contempt.
