this was so fucking enjoyable to read. what a sweet little story to read as an escape!! the misunderstanding and miscommunication made my heart ache, but it definitely made the stories richer--and made joel & girl realise their feelings for each other. also, major props to girl for initiating this relationship--her fear of joel one day having a wife that was not her--and then doing something about? you go, girl. you wear that heart on your sleeve :') i really hope you pick up this story again one day. would love to read their happily ever after. -

1. 2025 Nov 28 — Holy shit this writing is gobsmackingly excellent! The detail, the emotion, the intrigue, the disdain, the complexity/sophistication. I’m fucking OBSESSED WITH THIS STORY. HOLY FUCK. I only skimmed reading the tags to this fic before diving in—I saw “Soulmates” and “IShouldBe” and I was sold—so to discover within the first chapter than it’s a fic with Hermione in Severus’s Hogwarts era and they’re two peas in a pod and already thick as thieves and inseparable? Fuck yes! No angst of wondering if the other feels the same—we’re dropped straight into their partnership and their brilliant chaos. And Sevvy bought her a cat!!! I’m already subscribed to get an email whenever you post but I feel like AO3 should be color-coding their emails at this point like—High Priority drop everything and read ASAP. -

2024 Nov 1 — holy cow, you brought this fic back!!!! i was one of those people who reached and asked what ever happened to this story when i noticed it disappeared! i'm so glad you resurrected it!! abd even more happy that you it going to be completed! from the first paragraph of the summary, i knew this fic would be intense, unlike any other, and FASCINATING. instantly hooked—which i can’t emphasize enough. i love taboo age difference stories bc they’re so intense, so emotional, make the characters contemplate their existnece/life/the consequence, and grapple with their love. that emotion and angst it so fucking delicious to dive headfirst into as a reader. this is so unique, developed, and well-written. the entire plot, the characters, the scenes, the interactions are indelibly engraved in my brain—all in the best way. you’ve made something unparallel and amazing here.
