Kenta peers down at him, lips pressed together tightly. His jaw twitches. The usually sleek slope of his hair is slightly askew. Disheveled in only the slightest way, yet it sends something sharp through Kim.
"You were with Pete?" He manages to pant out the words, jealousy ripping through his gut as a low growl threatens to slip from his throat. Kim has no right to act this way. Feral and stupidly animalistic in the most embarrassing kind of way.
A slight nod juts Kenta's chin. "He's been insistent on monitoring me since I've come off of the scent blockers that Tony used to give me. He told me that I reek."
This time, Kim does growl. Low and angry.
Kenta just continues to stare at him, entirely unintimidated. "Do you think I stink?" He takes a step forward and Kim's entire body spasms as more sweetness pulses into him.
"That's you?" Kim chokes on his own tongue. He drops forward, hands slapping against the floor. His nails claw at the wood in an attempt to anchor himself down. Tension strings through him.

Summary
"How was practice?" Kenta asks before Kim even actually acknowledges him through the phone.
Kim lets out a soft chuckle to himself as he sets his phone onto his dresser, hands going to undo the towel around his waist so that he can get dressed in his sleep clothes. "I smoked everyone. Honestly, I'm getting a bit bored with it. There's no one over here that's as much of a challenge as Babe, you know?"
Kenta hums softly before going quiet for a long moment. Kim uses the silence to slip into his sleep pants. "Have you thought about coming back? I'm sure Babe would love to race with you again. He's barely got any competition without you or Charlie to push him."
It's a thinly veiled excuse and they both know it. Kim doesn't point it out. "I'm under contract here. I can't just leave in the middle of the season to race Babe because we're both lonely on the track." More excuses.
"Are you ever going to come back?" Kenta's voice takes a softer turn. Uncertain and quiet.
