Summary
After the capture of the notorious supervillain, Nightmare, who had been reining terror down on the city for the past year, the Hero Coalition runs into some problems. Upon being unmasked, it's revealed Nightmare is not legally an adult and is the child of one of their top heroes.
The laws are complicated around children who put on masks. While the cops, lawyers, and heroes figure out how to handle this mess without leaking anything to the press, the kid needs to go somewhere. He can't go home with his adoptive father who is facing child negligence charges (not to mention the man's superhero alter ego had beaten the shit out of him live on camera last week). He can't go to a normal family with his dangerous powers. He can't even be thrown in jail without risking the scandal getting out.
So, they turn to Crowfather to save the day!
“Did you attend school?” asked Phil.
“Yeah.”
“What's your favorite subject?”
“The fuck are you doing old man?” he asked, suspicious but calm. At least... calm until his social worker spoke.
“Thomas,” he scolded, his hand coming down to squeeze the boy’s ankle.
Oh, Phil thought. The boy hadn't been kidding about the biting like a dog thing.

Summary
“Techno,” Tommy asks, resisting the urge to wring his hands together. “Why did you decide to do this? To start a bakery, I mean.”
Techno doesn’t pause at that, but his movements slow, for just a moment. His hands press into the dough below him with a slow and deep consistency. “Knew that one day, there’d be a ratty street kid starvin’ himself out here.”
“I was not ratty,” Tommy grumbles, crossing his arms and glaring.
This gets Techno to pause, turning to deadpan at Tommy with his eyebrow raised.
“I was not!”
“You still are,” Techno rumbles, turning back to his dough. From the mouth of almost anyone else, it would be mean and bitter. From Techno, it only sounds fond.
---
Tommy is a street kid, stealing whatever the Emerald Bakery leaves out to cool. But what happens when they start leaving food out on purpose? And what happens when they take Tommy in?

Summary
Techno slammed his fists against the transparent wall of his prison, trying his best to break it down. His captors backed up, whistling anxiously to each other.
He gave the barrier another loud crack, delightedly watching as they scrambled away in abject terror.
Nodding in satisfaction, he turned around to meet the eyes of two other prisoners that had been thrown into his cell.
He froze.
Right.
There were now aliens in his cell.
And he probably just scared the hell out of them.
Or: Humans are a dangerous race feared by all on an intergalactic scale. Techno, a human ex-soldier that was abducted by aliens 18 months ago, is biding his time in captivity.
This changes when two young aliens are sent into his cell to die.

Summary
Tommy was born powerless, but that didn’t stop him from being the best fighter the Hero’s agency has ever seen. (Even if all of the other heroes don’t appreciate that.)
However, when he starts presenting as an avian and his instincts latch on to one of the most powerful villains in the city, things start to get intense.
He’ll have to struggle between his desire to be a hero and his desire to be loved, questioning his morals as his world changes around him.

Summary
A blistering sound came from above him, the whirling of rotor blades creating a wind powerful enough to knock Tommy over - if he were standing. The Crow gave one last look at Tommy, before motioning to his flock to follow him to the helicopter. He clearly thinks I'm not a threat, Tommy hissed as he moved his arm, pushing himself up onto his legs. And he's right.
Because if there's one thing that Tommy is, it's a coward. He won't die for the heroes, he'd rather risk all their lives than risk his to potentially save his colleagues. Tommy had been fighting the Syndicate for months now, and every time he leaves them alive - in return, they'll leave him breathing too.
Or, Tommy works out that heroism isn't all that it's made out to be
