Tim Drake is favored character of mine. I enjoy fics where he is loved with themes like:
Batfamily appreciates and cares for him and wants to do good or better by him.
Bruce is a good parent and calls him Sweetheart, his baby, etc.
People sees how good and talented he is (or else).

Batman needs a Robin…but Jason is dead and Dick no longer lives in Gotham. Tim could hunt him down and convince him to come back, but that would take time. Time he worries Batman doesn’t have.
Every night, he gets closer and closer to crossing the line. If he doesn’t get help soon, Tim’s terrified he’ll end up killing someone.
In the absence of Robin, a beta will have to do.
(Or: Tim presents as a beta and chooses to apply his new instincts to comforting Batman. Batman doesn't get a say in it.)
