Summary
Halfway through his interaction with Stiles, Derek realized his head was throbbing and he was clenching his jaw so tightly his teeth ached. His fangs threatened to drop, and he was still struggling for control after Stiles had disappeared into the sheriff’s office.
Derek didn’t stop struggling even after Stiles walked past his desk ten minutes later, saluted, and left the building. Not until long after his scent had faded.
~
In which Stiles unknowingly triggers a phantom alpha heat in Derek and then offers to help him through it. Against Derek’s better judgment, he accepts.

Summary
Stiles has recently been practicing an incredibly useful little trick kind of akin to a cloaking spell. When he uses it, not even the wolves with their annoyingly nosy super-senses can find him. So far, his experiments with it have not only been informative but also incredibly entertaining.
Because it was more than a little bit satisfying to pop in out of nowhere and give the pack just a little taste of all the near-heart attacks Stiles has suffered over the years from all their dramatic werewolf spontaneous entrances and exits, disappearances and reappearances.
Plus, Scott totally screams like a girl and now Stiles isn’t the only one who knows (appearing from behind the shower curtain right as Scott was about to climb in had accomplished that).
The only person he could never seem to get the jump on was Derek.

Summary
“Hey, Sourwolf”, the stranger smiled.
His plush bottom lip was pierced and so was one of his ears. The smile itself was easy, confident. His hair was still messy but rather in a ‘just got lucky’ way instead of ‘gone through a research binge and haven’t slept in a while’. There was no graphic tee, no plaid – he wore a simple white t-shirt, pointedly stretched across his shoulders, and his dark jeans were hugging a pair of strong thighs. He was taller. And broader. His scent was different – gone was the sweet and innocent smell of a teenage boy, gone was almost everything Derek had ever smelled on him. Faint traces of the Nogitsune’s darkness and the ozone promise of more than what-meets-the-eye were of the few notes that remained. The rest… was fog and danger, capability and newfound confidence, a bittersweet tang of something like acceptance of what he was and understanding of everything that came with it. -

Summary
Derek knows he’s staring, knows he should stop, drag his focus back to his daughter and not this—this stranger, gorgeous as he is with his slight upturned nose and bright eyes, lips that Derek is going to see in his dreams and long fingers folded into a fist that his jaw rests on. He should stop staring but he feels punch-drunk, knocked off his feet by the overwhelming attraction he feels, blood pumping so fast he can hear it rushing in his ears, can feel it in his pulse points.
The guy turns his head to look up at Derek and winks—winks, and Derek gets a glimpse of a black bar that pierces through the end of his eyebrow, and he realizes he really needs to grab Evie and get out of there when he starts wondering if this guy has a tongue piercing to go along with the rest, or just how far across his broad shoulders the tattoos go, if they stretch all the way down his tapered hips, lines like a map for Derek to follow with his tongue.

It really says a lot about the state of Stiles’ life that it ends up happening often enough that it qualifies as a pattern.
A lot of very upsetting things, mostly.

Stiles has a secret he's been keeping from everyone his entire life. Stiles knows his secret is a ticking time bomb and at some point, everyone will know it. But he quite likes being the human of the pack. Even though Derek and he know that he isn't.
Derek just wants to figure out exactly what he is. -

Summary
Instead he sits for a moment, looking at the empty search box, fingers on the home row the way his mother taught him. He thinks about that, and about the hole in the wall he’d lived with for so long, and the way Isaac had grinned at him last night when he’d finally gotten around to plugging the refrigerator in.
He finds himself typing in, “how to be a normal person.”
