Post-TFA, Ben/Kylo and Rey have had enough of their respective sides and go AWOL. Serendipitously they run into each other accidentally … and then keep on running (in)to each other not so accidentally. This is a beautifully written series, so beautifully written that I am recommending giving it a try even though it is not only incomplete, it’s orphaned. It appears to have been planned in five parts, but only the first two fics are complete and the third 5/6 completed. However, even in its incompletion, it explores abandonment issues to desperate longing with a well contrived subplot in what feels a very natural progression for these two. It also features a very apt characterization of Rey, even more so than she’s depicted on screen - I’m not sure how to convey it, but this portrayal of Rey makes “sense” to me. She’s scrappy and always in a survivalist mode, socially awkward and just as lonely in a room full of people, but never lonely with Kylo/Ben. At any rate, it won’t be often that I recommend an incomplete, orphaned series, but with two completed fics and an almost completed third fic, there is enough here to enjoy.

Summary

Sent to find Luke Skywalker, Rey finds herself training, learning to use her powers, soon realizing that she was being hunted by the monster she defeated but left alive. The monster who's mind now seems linked directly to hers.
Chained together by a force bond, the two adversaries begin to understand the potential and dangers of this link between them.

Military AU. Ben is a seasoned leader of a Blackhawk squad and Rey is an up and coming pilot. The Reylo is fun and sexy, but the father/son moments with Han shine. AJLynne writes action laden fics with fully fleshed out worlds and characters that are Hollywood worthy. (I recommend all of these author’s fics).

Don't miss this Reylo, it's delightful. As the fic starts in-universe, it diverges when Rey and Ben/Kylo crash separately on Earth and are forced to navigate the “primitive” Avonlea society in the early 20th century. It’s darling while also steamy and angsty - unexpected combos and an unexpected, well contrived gem.
