“I do not–” Mike tries, even though he’d kind of just admitted to accidentally kissing Will Byers, a little, so maybe that’s an entirely fruitless road to go down.

Mike hates Valentine’s Day. It was fun as kids, when teachers would make every student decorate a little shoe box with pink and red heart stickers, that by the end of the day would be filled with cheesy Valentines and sweets.
But this isn’t kindergarten anymore— there are no school-enforced rules that his classmates have to give him a Valentine. He has to earn them. And he hasn’t.

Mike is (not) upset that he’s the only one of his friends that hasn’t received a Valentine. That is, until something just so happens to fall out of his locker the next day.

Summary
In order to pursue his dreams of becoming an artist, Will Byers moves to New York, just across the water from his step-sister, El, and her husband, Lucas. He quickly learns of the unusual circumstances surrounding their marriage, and finds that El might not be as happy in her relationship as he had previously thought. He internally vows to do anything in his power to give his sister the life she deserves.
That opportunity comes sooner than he had expected, as Will gets invited to a party that his very wealthy neighbor is hosting one evening. They immediately hit it off, until the man reveals a possible ulterior motive for their sudden close friendship: Will’s sister.
