She raised an eyebrow, unimpressed.
“Okay, poor choice of words,” Keigo conceded with a sheepish grin. “But I mean it.”
Does he? Kaina had been through this before, promises of a better life, empty words spun into hopeful futures that never came, and look where that got her. Could she really trust that, this time, her employment in the Commission would be different? Keigo’s eyes were nothing but earnest, yet Kaina still found it difficult to believe him.
Kaina Tsutsumi hasn't allowed herself to imagine a future outside of Tartarus for a very long time. Keigo Takami is determined not to let her rot.

Izuku was still remembering these words when the shadow of the soulmark that Connected him to Shinsō appeared on his forearm. A signpost for them that they could become soulmates. He knew exactly why they could be Connected and he would do everything he could to make this relationship grow.But the point is that in any relationship between two people, it is not enough that only one of the parties is willing to work on it.

Midoriya Izuku is just one of many nurses in his hospital's neurology step-down unit. Kaminari Denki is just one of many patients whom he'll meet over the course of his career. Even so, there's meaning to be found in the quotidian, and perhaps their encounter is a little more than ordinary.

Bakugou Katsuki never thought he’d see Midoriya Izuku again. Which was fine by him. Deku had moved away in elementary school and Katsuki quickly moved on, his own high school years turning tumultuous as he adjusted suddenly to becoming disabled and an ambulatory wheelchair user. Now, as an adult, Katsuki only reflects on Deku occasionally- mostly with regret with how he treated him growing up. But that’s all Deku is- a face from his past, and so is the kid Katsuki used to be. He never expected to be confronted with Deku again.
But all of a sudden green hair shows back up in his life and Katsuki realizes he has a lot more of his past to unpack then he thought he did.
