Summary
This was part of a whole story I wanted to write about Tommy running away from a extremely neglectful Sbi and joins a circus just cause he met Tubbo who was a retired clown at said circus and offered a loving family. Basically Jschlatt, who is Tubbo’s father, built a circus and gathered up the towns “freaks” to make nothing short of a freak show. Tommy isn’t considered a “freak” but is scarily good a gymnastics so Jschlatt is like “okay time to adopt another kid” It’s basically like The Greatest Showman but with a shit ton more of angst.

It’s quiet. Tommy doesn’t like it when it’s quiet.
Tommy was loud. Tommy was combative and hostile and defensive and aggressive. Tommy was destructive. He knows he’s a problem child, constantly getting into trouble and wrecking any semblance of a family he might have left. But he doesn’t stop- he prefers the disgusted looks and constant new faces to the heartbreak that comes with caring.
Tommy’s been bounced from home to home for most of his adolescence. This place is supposed to be a new start with people who care, but Tommy can’t bring himself to open up. He knows it’ll only end in pain and bitterness. He has his friends and support system, and he tells himself it’s all he needs.
“We’re here.” He was told. “Try not to fuck this one up.”

When he walks into the bathroom, the first thing he does is turn on the faucet and splash his face with sickeningly cold water. He looks into the mirror at himself and sighs. His cheeks are sunken in and his eyes are grey, he chuckles a bit at that, so it wasn’t just a joke. Scars litter his face, some recent and some old. Each one has a story, but he tries not to think too hard about the stories. None of the stories are good stories.
Blond hair is matted on his head and it looks like it was cut sloppily. It’s because it was. The Red Room never let boys have short hair, it was always long. George had said it was ‘for convenience, it’s easier to put up and keep out of your face’. The moment Tommy had escaped, he went at his hair with craft scissors, cutting away the hair he never wanted in the first place.
(or, when tommy escaped the red room, he was not expecting to be hauling an injured supervillain back to his raggedy-ass apartment, but here he is.)

Roier blinks and chuckles at his eagerness, but lets Bobby take his hand and pull him towards the set up they made on the hill. Two easels, facing the sunset. Jaiden can’t help the twinge of self-consciousness that tugs in her gut, wanting to immediately cover or flip her canvas from view. It was far from her best work.
When she’s on her feet, however, Bobby and Roier are already bent over her painting.
“Oh– ¡Guau! ¡Qué bonito! Jaiden! What the fuck!” Roier crows with a laugh of disbelief, eyes dancing between the painting and the landscape she’d been mirroring, “This is so good!”

Technoblade arched his brow as he wound the boxing wraps around Tommy’s knuckles. The teenager’s hands were textured strangely under Technoblade’s fingers, stretches of burn scars pockmarking the skin. They trembled involuntarily.
Tommy continued: “I’m not supposed to hit people. Sam’s been getting on my ass about it for years. Now all of a sudden, he wants me to? Wants me to get better at it, even?”
Technoblade suppressed his huff of laughter. He didn’t need this kid thinking he found him at all amusing. “That’s not why you’re here.”
“Right,” Tommy drawled, tilting his head up to fix Technoblade with a squint-eyed look. With his blonde curls and blue eyes, the kid looked positively angelic. That illusion was shattered the moment he opened his mouth. “I’m here to learn discipline. Get some aggression out. Become a decent fucking member of society.”
“Can’t help you with that last one,” Technoblade said honestly.
Or, thanks to an act of persuasion by an old friend, Technoblade finds himself teaching a teenager with a troubled past how to box. Together, they carve out a future, though not without a few bloody noses along the way.

He blinked.
“What?”
“You’re an orange tabby cat. Why are you blond?”
In which catshifter Tommy experiences a Christmas for the first time in a home that loves his human form just as much as his orange one.
