They don’t know whose voice it is at first. Just a quiet murmur, a stray thought slipping through the noise. Angry, amused, tender, afraid. Human.
And then they find you. And you have no idea they can hear you thinking.At first it's just about finding out who you are, why they're hearing you. But then they start to feel you. The way you laugh, the warmth in your thoughts, the moments you imagine things you’d never say aloud. And they listen. They shouldn’t, but they do.
You notice the way they look at you — too intent, too knowing — and instead of pulling back, you let them. You meet their gazes a little too long, you tease, you wonder what they’d do if they knew what you were thinking, too.
