He stayed in the redhead’s room for hours, consoling him and giving him a shoulder to cry on. He canceled training with Izuku to get Kirishima back on his feet. He pushed back their dates to cook dinner for him. He disregarded Izuku’s texts to spend time with him.
And Izuku, tragically, understood.
As the first petal tumbled from his busted lips after returning from patrol one March evening in their third year, he understood perfectly.

Kageyama’s mouth drops, and he frowns, not sure if he heard it right. “What?”
He hears Hinata sigh, “I said: I used to like you.”
Kageyama blinks and stares at him, speechless, trying to figure out what to reply to that because what the heck? He blinks again and thinks, what the heck?
What the actual heck.
“This, hold on, huh, what—since, since when…?”
“Since we were fourteen.”

Summary
After failing to develop a quirk and missing the mark to get OFA from All Might, Izuku became a vigilante to save the people ignored by heroes and in danger during the night, all under the guise of being a normal highschool student and son during the day.
One late night, after working himself to exhaustion, Izuku is found at his breaking point, feverish and alone, by pro-hero, UA teacher, and future father-figure Eraserhead.
Will the world be able to look beyond the lack of a quirk and see this boy as a hero? With the help of his new friends in Class-1A and All for One at large, Izuku's quirklessness might be exactly what they need to fix everything.
